Bayou Vermilion Festival Sunday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at
Vermilionville. Band Line-Up: 10:30 a.m. – Geno Delafose & French Rockin’
Boogie; 1:00 p.m. – Jason Frey & Lagniappe;4:00 p.m. – Jesse Lege & The Southern
Ramblers. The day promises to be fun and full of energy from the first note.
Water related activities include canoe trips, boat tours, wooden boats on
display, a fur display of bayou animals and more. We'll also have delicious
festival food, a fact-scavenger hunt, crafts for kids, self-guided village
tours, antique car and environmental groups present. If you have a wooden boat,
an antique car or are an environmental group who would like to participate in
this festival, please call Paul LaHaye at 769-7283. Festival admission is $5 for
adults, $3 for members and children (6-18) and those under six get in free. For all other information,

Monthly Canoe Outings
As a Paddle America Club, The Bayou Vermilion District’s Bayou
Operations conducts canoe outings on the first Saturday of every month (weather
permitting, Dec. - March excluded). The two-way, 1 and ˝ hour canoe events begin
at 9 a.m. Space is limited and reservations are required by the Wednesday before
the outing. Cost is $5 per person to cover the event insurance. Canoes are
provided. Participants 18 and younger must be registered by their parents and
those 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For questions or to make

Lafayette Parish Bayou Vermilion District -- Board of Commissioners Meeting
Held the 4th Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm, board meetings are open to the public. The meetings are held at Vermilionville, which is located at 300 Fisher Road, (off of Surrey Street, across from the airport entrance) in Lafayette, LA. If
