BVD MISSION

Improve the water quality of the Bayou Vermilion in an effort to promote the bayou as a recreational and cultural asset;

To create and control viable economic development adjacent to Bayou Vermilion so as to provide a diversified economic base for the city and parish; and

To do any and all acts to enhance the general condition of the Bayou Vermilion.

Bayou Vermilion District is a multi-faceted organization that has initiated various projects to fulfill its mission.

Along with our long term aim to reduce the amount of non-point source pollution entering our waterways, we want to increase public use of the natural areas
