Presentations At Your School

By using our portable landscape (“Enviroscape”) as a visual model, we are able to demonstrate and discuss what makes up a watershed.

The demonstration includes:

  1. The effects of our water runoff
  2. Pollution
  3. Water Quality
  4. Non-point Source Pollution
  5. The Water Cycle
  6. Ecology of our Watershed & related concepts.

We discuss what our role can be with regard to protecting and improving the health of our rivers and bayous. In particular, the Bayou Vermilion flows through the center of Lafayette Parish and represents a rich natural resource for all it’s residents.

The demonstration is offered as one aspect of our Education Outreach Program for the Bayou Vermilion District. A demonstration can be scheduled for your school or educational program. The demonstration can be adapted to any age or grade level, and can be particularly relevant to those studying Earth Sciences. The demonstration takes about 45 minutes.
